I started Ashmi because I wanted something that did not exist.

When my first child was born, I found myself standing in front of a closet full of baby clothes that felt wrong. Everything was either too basic to feel special or too fussy to be practical. I wanted pieces that would look beautiful in photos. Pieces that felt soft against her skin. Pieces that made me feel like the kind of mother who had thought about what she was putting on her baby that morning.

I could not find that. So I built it.

Ashmi is named after my two children, Asher and Rumi. That is where everything started, with our family and what we actually needed when they were babies. And even though they are no longer babies, it warms my heart to see my nieces and nephews rocking pieces from Ashmi & Co. just like my kids did. We design occasion-ready clothing for babies zero to twenty-four months in a palette of warm neutrals. Dusty rose. Sage. Cream. Navy. The kind of colors that look as good in person as they do in photographs.

Our EVERYDAY collection is for the mornings that feel ordinary until you realize they will not last. Our SPECIAL collection is for the milestones you will want to remember. The first birthday. The holiday photo. The outfit you pack when you visit grandparents for the first time. Both kinds of days matter. Both deserve something you picked out on purpose.

I am a Black woman building a company in an industry where that is still rare. I do not lead with that fact, but I do not hide it either. It is simply part of who I am and why this brand exists.
